Cost of Services

In a Lavender Field

Insurance and Payment Policy

Please note that I no longer accept insurance as payment for individual therapy sessions. While this allows me to provide you with a more personalized and flexible approach to therapy, I understand that insurance coverage can be an important consideration.

You may wish to contact your insurance provider directly to inquire whether they offer reimbursement for out-of-network therapy services. I can provide you with the necessary documentation, such as receipts or a superbill, to submit to your insurer for potential reimbursement. Please verify with your insurer the extent of coverage they may offer for my services.

Payment for sessions is due in full at the time of service. I accept various payment methods to ensure a seamless process. If you have any questions about this policy or need assistance, please reach out.

Individual sessions are longer than typical (50-minute) sessions and cost:

Sessions: 60 - 90 minutes = $225

Sessions: 2-3 hours x 3 days = $1,200 [savings of $150] - this looks like meeting for 2-3 hours one weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) or during the week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and working through the experiences that are causing the most challenges in your life. Then, we would regroup quarterly and reevaluate what might next be coming up and do another intensive to work through more experiences.

Why I No Longer Take Insurance

There are many reasons therapists like me are making the shift to private payments for therapy sessions. When I first got into private practice, I started by accepting insurance and working with all insurance carriers to provide my clients access to care. And then the insurance companies began pushing for new and often higher diagnosis codes than were warranted based on their symptoms. At times, insurance companies have threatened to deny payments, charge clients for the entire cost of the session rather than their co-pay portion, and even take back payments for sessions already completed. While the cost of therapy may seem prohibitive for some individuals, choosing private pay allows for greater flexibility, privacy, and personalized care, without the limitations often imposed by insurance.

Seeking help should not bring harm to our future selves. My clients are high-performing individuals whose careers could be at risk simply for seeking therapy or receiving certain diagnoses on their records. For my younger clients, I would not want their aspirations of going into the FBI or the armed forces derailed by a diagnosis that could appear on their medical records and potentially impact their future career options.
